Remedial Massage Treatments

Not to be mistaken for deep tissue massage (which involves the whole body), remedial massage is designed for targeted pain and injury relief. The pressure applied by the masseuse varies depending on the nature of the pain and its location. It also involves the assessment of targeted areas over a series of sessions, during which the masseuse asks the patient if they have noticed any improvements. This is done so that adjustments can be made accordingly.

Although it can help with generalised pain (such as that caused by strains or work injuries), remedial massage is increasingly being used by doctors to help patients cope with serious illnesses. For instance, it has been found that remedial massage can offer relief for symptoms associated with heart disease, chronic pain and even cancer.

When it comes to providing remedial massage in Grafton, Mark Jones makes use of the latest techniques and operates in a relaxed, modern setting. His services can help alleviate:

  • Strains
  • Arthritis
  • Headaches
  • Neck & shoulder pain
  • Addiction, anxiety & depression
  • Digestive disorders

Plus, a host of other conditions.

Panabaa Release Treatments

Pioneered by Australian therapist Gordon Tyack, Panabaa release is an approach designed to ease the tension between joints, vertebrae, surrounding muscle tissue and fascia. It is generally used to remedy issues relating to misaligned pelvises and spinal columns. Panabaa release techniques are geared towards restoring the natural position of the body as a whole, optimising joint flexibility and posture.

Panabaa release is performed over a range of sessions to help manage musculoskeletal issues. The approach can help address:

  • Migraines
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Backache
  • Sciatica
  • Neck & shoulder pain
  • Discomfort associated with Lordosis, Kyphosis & Scoliosis

Mark Jones will apply the Panabaa release technique for your unique concerns.

Functional Fascial Taping

Functional Fascial Taping (FFT) can be thought of more as an adjunct to therapy than a therapy in and of itself. It is designed to reduce pain by shifting the loading on the fascia via facilitatory taping. FFT can help promote muscle healing, as well as allow you to continue with exercise and other activities (if only on a temporary basis before your rehabilitation has been completed).

Mark will advise if FFT is the right approach for your situation and administer the treatment as required. If you’d like to find out more, reach out today.

Myofascial Cupping Treatments

The myofascial cupping approach is designed to redirect nutrient-rich blood to areas of the body that need treating. Cupping has been proven to increase joint range of motion, alleviate connective tissue conditions, and reduce muscle tension. It is also useful for increasing lymphatic drainage, which can assist with detoxification.

Mark can provide myofascial cupping to aid with:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Pre & post-operative conditions
  • Asthma
  • Poor blood circulation
  • Digestive issues

Plus, much more.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can I expect after a myofascial cupping treatment?

You may experience a small amount of tiredness or even flu-like symptoms after the treatment is completed. This is normal. It is recommended that you rest and relax the day after the treatment.

  • What should I do after a remedial massage?

It is recommended that you drink plenty of water. However, it’s not advisable to take a hot shower straight away, as this could increase muscle inflammation. Eating a light snack after the remedial massage may increase your energy levels, so this is advised if you’re feeling sluggish.
